Why Dialcraft

The workshop difference

Work assessed before pricing

Every piece is looked at in person before a quote is given. You know what the work involves and what it costs before anything is started.

Station-by-station method

Each stage is completed and checked before moving to the next. This unhurried approach reduces the risk of compounding small errors into larger ones.

Written records for complex work

Restoration and complication work is documented at each stage. Owners of antique or intricate pieces receive a written account of what was found and what was done.

Character kept intact

Dial refinishing is done sympathetically — matching original colour and finish rather than imposing a uniform new look on a piece with years of honest wear.

Straightforward communication

If something unexpected turns up during the work, you are told before it is addressed. No surprises on the final invoice.

Local workshop, personal service

Based in Bang Khen, Nonthaburi — easy to reach from central Bangkok and the northern suburbs. You deal with the bench, not a chain of staff.

Bring your piece in for a look

There is no obligation in having it assessed. Drop by the workshop, describe what you have noticed, and we will give you an honest picture of what the work would involve.

Questions answered

Frequently asked

Do I need to make an appointment to bring a watch in? +
Walk-ins are welcome during workshop hours, though calling ahead means we can set aside time to go through the piece properly with you. For complicated or antique work, a prior call is a good idea so the right tools are at hand.
How is the price worked out? +
The listed prices cover most standard cases for each service. For pieces that need additional work — unusual movement configurations, hard-to-source parts, or extra layers of restoration — we discuss any adjustment with you before proceeding. You are never charged for work that was not agreed first.
Can scratches on a sapphire crystal be removed? +
Sapphire is very hard and typically resistant to light scratches from normal use — a sapphire crystal that looks scratched is more often just surface contamination that cleans off. Deep marks on sapphire cannot be polished out without specialist lapidary equipment; in most such cases, crystal replacement is the honest recommendation.
My pocket watch belonged to a relative — how do you handle pieces like that? +
With particular care. The written assessment we provide for pocket watch and complication work notes the condition of the piece as received, and we discuss the scope of any restoration before starting. The aim is always to preserve rather than replace, and nothing original is discarded without your agreement.
Is the workshop open on weekends? +
The workshop is open Monday through Saturday, 09:00–18:00. We are closed on Sundays and Thai public holidays. If you are coming a long way, a quick call on the morning is worthwhile just to confirm we are in.
What happens if something unexpected is found during the work? +
We stop and contact you. Additional work is only carried out with your agreement, and you always have the option to receive the piece back in its current state if you would prefer not to proceed with the extra scope.
